Questions, answered.
Everything you need to know about HDD, SSD, RAID, mobile and ransomware recovery.
General
How long does data recovery take?
Logical recoveries typically complete in 1–3 days. Physical recoveries that require cleanroom work take 3–10 days depending on damage and donor parts availability. Emergency 24-hour service is available on request.
What is your No Recovery, No Charge policy?
For logical cases, if we cannot recover your data you pay nothing beyond the diagnostic fee. The diagnostic fee covers our engineers' time and is shared upfront based on the drive brand (₹350–₹650).
Is my data kept confidential?
Yes. All recoveries are handled by a dedicated team under strict confidentiality. NDAs are available on request for businesses, hospitals and government clients. Recovered data is securely wiped from our systems after delivery.
Do you provide pickup in Trichy?
Yes — share your address on WhatsApp at +91 9942 194 494 and our team will arrange a secure pickup of your device. We also accept courier shipments from anywhere in India.
Hard Disk (HDD)
Can you recover data from a clicking hard disk?
Yes. Clicking sounds indicate head stack assembly failure. We perform head swaps inside our Class-100 cleanroom using matched donor drives, then image the platters with PC-3000 to safely extract your data.
My HDD shows 0 GB or is not detected in Windows. Is recovery possible?
Almost always, yes. 'Not detected' or '0 GB' issues are commonly caused by corrupted firmware, bad service area modules or PCB faults. We rebuild firmware modules using MRT Lab and ACE Lab tools to restore drive identification, then recover your files.
Which HDD brands do you recover from?
We support every major manufacturer — Seagate, Western Digital, Toshiba, Samsung, HGST, Hitachi, Fujitsu, Maxtor and more — across 2.5" laptop drives, 3.5" desktop drives and external/portable enclosures.
What if the drive fell and now beeps?
Stop powering it on immediately. Beeping usually means the spindle motor is seized and continued power-on can scratch the platters permanently. Bring or ship the drive to us for cleanroom platter transplant.
SSD & NVMe
Can data be recovered from a dead SSD or NVMe drive?
In most cases, yes. SSD failures usually involve controller corruption, firmware crashes or NAND degradation. Using PC-3000 SSD and PC-3000 Flash, we read NAND chips directly and reconstruct the FTL (Flash Translation Layer) to recover files.
My M.2 NVMe is not detected in BIOS. Is it recoverable?
Often yes. Modern NVMe failures frequently stem from controller lockups or firmware corruption. We perform technical-mode access using PC-3000 NVMe to read the underlying NAND and rebuild your data.
Do you recover encrypted SSDs (BitLocker, OPAL, FileVault)?
Yes, provided you have the recovery key, password or credentials. Hardware-encrypted SSDs require additional steps — share the encryption details with our engineer during diagnosis for an accurate quote.
Will TRIM destroy my chances of recovery?
If the data was deleted and TRIM has run, recovery of deleted files is usually impossible. However, recovery from formatted, corrupted, or physically failed SSDs (where the drive simply stopped working) is still very possible.
RAID & Server
Do you recover failed RAID arrays?
Yes — RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, JBOD and nested arrays from Dell, HP, Lenovo, Synology, QNAP, Buffalo and custom servers. Every member drive is imaged read-only first, then the array is virtually reconstructed.
Two drives failed in my RAID 5 — is recovery still possible?
Often yes. We image each drive (including failed members), determine the original stripe size, parity rotation and disk order, then reconstruct the array virtually. Success depends on which drives failed and how recently.
My Synology / QNAP NAS shows crashed volume. Can you help?
Absolutely. NAS recovery is one of our specialties. We support EXT4, BTRFS, ZFS and proprietary filesystems used by Synology SHR, QNAP and Buffalo TeraStation devices.
Should I rebuild the array before contacting you?
No — please don't. Rebuilding, initializing or running consistency checks can overwrite recoverable data. Power down the array, label each drive with its slot number and contact us immediately.
Mobile & Memory Cards
Can you recover photos from a dead Android phone?
Yes. For phones that won't boot, we use chip-off and ISP (In-System Programming) techniques to read the eMMC or UFS storage directly. Recovery is possible for unencrypted devices and for encrypted devices when credentials are available.
My iPhone is water-damaged. Can the data be recovered?
We can attempt board-level repair to bring the device back online long enough to extract data. Success depends on damage severity and the iPhone model. Bring the phone in immediately — do not attempt to charge or power it on.
I formatted my SD card by mistake. Recoverable?
Yes — quick-format usually leaves the underlying data intact. Stop using the card immediately and bring it to us. We recover photos, RAW files and 4K video from SD, microSD, CF and CFexpress cards.
My pen drive isn't recognised on any computer. What's wrong?
Usually a controller failure, corrupted firmware, or physical damage to the USB connector. We perform NAND chip-off recovery using PC-3000 Flash to extract data directly from the memory chips.
Ransomware & Virus
My files are encrypted by ransomware. Can you decrypt them?
It depends on the ransomware family. For known variants with leaked keys or flawed encryption, decryption is possible. For modern strains using strong asymmetric encryption (AES-256 + RSA-2048), decryption without the attacker's key is generally not feasible — but we can recover shadow copies, deleted originals and unencrypted backups when present.
Should I pay the ransom?
We strongly advise against it. Payment funds future attacks and there's no guarantee of getting working keys. Bring your systems to us first — in many cases we recover usable data without ever paying the attacker.
Can you recover files deleted by a virus?
Yes, in most cases. Viruses often delete or hide files rather than securely erasing them. We use forensic imaging and file-system analysis to recover both deleted and hidden data, even from infected drives.
How can I protect myself from ransomware in the future?
Maintain offline backups (3-2-1 rule), keep OS and antivirus updated, disable RDP from the internet, and train staff on phishing. We offer secure backup consultations for businesses after recovery is complete.
